The following charts list the various card reader drives that we sell and
which samplers are compatible with these drives. We note any formatting
limitations or other issues with the drive/card reader. You can click on
the card reader links at the top of each chart to see the drives we have in
stock. If there is no link,
then we are out-of-stock on that model. If you see a ?? under the card reader,
this means the drive has not yet been tested with that sampler model.

a - Requires the optional SCSI interface from
Marion Systems.

b - 1GB is the maximum space that this sampler can access on a media card.
|
|
c - This sampler requires the Vailixi 3.50 OS by
Mansell Labs in order to work with
this drive. Also, you must set the multi-sector transfer mode to off when saving files with
these card readers.
|
|
d - 510MB is the maximum per-drive space that this sampler can access on a media card.
|
|
e - 780MB is the maximum per-drive space that this sampler can access on a media card.
|
|
f - The MPC2000 Classic and MPC3000 samplers will be compatible with the MCDISK
provided your sampler has a functional SCSI fuse. We have found that many MPC2000 Classic and
MPC3000 samplers have blown or missing SCSI fuses and this causes the MCDISK not to work
properly due to the missing termination power on the SCSI bus. Unless you are 100% certain
your MPC2000 Classic or MPC3000 has a functional SCSI fuse, it is better to buy the
MCDISK-2, which provides the needed termination power and will work even when the
SCSI fuse is blown or missing. For more information about blown SCSI fuses on Akai

a - 2GB is the maximum per-drive space that the K2000 (all models) can access.
These drives will only work with Operating System version 3.52 and higher, so be sure to check
your version before ordering. If you need an OS upgrade for your K2000, contact
DG Audio Repair.

b - The maximum per-drive space that can be accessed by the K2500 and K2600
samplers (all models) is 8GB, which is accessed in 2GB partitions.

use any SCSI devices.

All Ensoniq samplers require that the optional SCSI interface be installed in order to
use any SCSI devices.
8GB is the maximum per-drive space that can be accessed on a media card by the Ensoniq sampler.
In order to access this amount of space, the media card must be formatted using the
Chicken Systems Translator software. If formatted by the sampler, the
media card will only format up to 2GB.

a - The MCDISK is compatible with these samplers when they have the aftermarket
SCSI interfaces installed. The original Ensoniq SCSI interface does not provide the
termination power required for proper operation of the MCDISK. If don't know which
SCSI interface you have, buy the MCDISK-2 to be sure, as it works with all the EPS
and EPS-16+ SCSI interfaces.

b - The TS-10 and TS-12 have read-only SCSI interfaces, meaning that they
can load samples from a SCSI drive but cannot save data to any type of SCSI device.
